Human Resources Program
According to the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council, labour shortages are a widespread and costly risk facing the sector. They report that in 2014, the agriculture sector in Canada was unable to fill 26,400 jobs which they estimate resulted in a cost of $1.5 Billion to the sector. In Manitoba alone, they reported in 2014 that 1,800 jobs in agriculture went unfilled, which cost the industry $282 Million.
Recognizing this risk, KAP has hired an HR Consultant for the benefit of its members. This consultant is available to KAP members seeking HR guidance or advice and can provide individual coaching and workshops on matters such as recruitment and retention.
