Manitoba farmers are highly dependent on a well-functioning and responsive infrastructure network that meets their current needs.

Railways, highways, drainage, and flood infrastructure represent key components that contribute to the success of Manitoba agriculture. All these infrastructure components must be adequately maintained and periodically upgraded to meet farmers’ needs.

Farmers have seen the impact that natural disasters, labour strikes, overseas conflicts, and a global pandemic has had on commodity movements into regional and global markets. All levels of government must implement policies that enhance competitiveness, create efficiencies, and foster increased capacity within the supply chain and infrastructure network.
