In May 2025, the provincial government launched an economic development strategy consultation. The strategy aims to be all-encompassing—valid for all sectors.

Our comments focused on the need for sector specific strategies, including agriculture. Our recommendations also touched on increasing export capacity, addressing farmland ownership challenges, removing interprovincial trade barriers, investing in water infrastructure, targeting core infrastructure needs, and increasing research and innovation funding.
