Resolved, that KAP work in conjunction with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture to research and actively engage in discussions regarding farmers’ right to repair and planned obsolescence.
Update
In 2024, the federal government made amendments to the Copyright Act that allows farmers and independent repair shops the right to repair. Another amendment involving interoperability ensures compatibility between devices and software. KAP will continue to advocate for the right to repair in provincial legislation.
