Resolved, that KAP lobby the Government of Manitoba to postpone the Crown land lease rates increases to give producers an opportunity to recover from the dry conditions in 2019.
In 2024, the Manitoba government froze agricultural Crown land rental rates at $3.66 per animal unit month and reduced lease costs by 55% for the 2024 growing season. The province also committed to reviewing the Crown land leasing program to support long-term sustainability and ensure equitable pricing for agricultural users.
